At Kingsley, we believe property management is about more than just buildings — it’s about people. We’re proud to create communities where residents feel heard, valued, and right at home. As the summer heat kicks in, we want to ensure you stay cool, safe, and comfortable all season long.
Here are a few simple and effective ways to beat the heat in your apartment:
1. Keep Blinds Closed During the Day
Sunlight can quickly warm your space. Keep blinds or curtains closed during the hottest hours of the day — especially on south- and west-facing windows. For added comfort, adding blackout curtains can make a big difference.
2. Use Fans Strategically
Create cross-breezes by placing fans across from one another or near open windows in the evening to pull in cooler air. When cooking, aim fans towards windows to help direct warm air out of your space and keeping your space feeling fresh.
3. Avoid Heat-Producing Appliances
Minimize the use of ovens, stoves, and dryers during the hottest parts of the day. Try no-cook or easy-cook meals, use the microwave, or even take dinner outside and enjoy a BBQ or picnic!
4. Let Fresh Air In (When It’s Cool)
If it’s safe to do so, open windows during the early morning or evening hours when temperatures drop. Let that fresh air flow in and then close windows and curtains before the sun gets too strong.
